Encompassing Windows

Start by fastening Trim Channels along the outside edge of the window. Next, if your Moderra Brick wall will extend above the window, attach a starter Ledge or angle iron at the top. You must also decide if you will flash or caulk the unit by the Trim Channel.

When building your row beneath the window, finish with a space between the top of the column and the bottom of the window. This space is needed for the Sill. Depending on the size of the sill, your space below the window will vary. The Sill should be installed under the window and glued into place using Super-Stik.

Now that your window is prepared, cut or split your Moderra Brick units to the length needed.

Apply a thin layer of Super-Stik to the trim Channel and slide the cut units into the corresponding Bracket. Alternatively, you can use a Moderra Tie.

Continue up the wall until past the window. Once past the window, place the Moderra Brick onto the Starter Ledge and continue as you would with a normal row.

Proceed up the opposite side of the window the same way you did the first side. Cut or split the Moderra Brick units so they will continue to maintain a consistent pattern.

Finally, place flashing or caulking between the window and the Moderra Brick units to prevent moisture from falling behind the wall.
