11/29/2004 - Thank you for the technical assistance and advice on your Moderra block system. You and your staff are very professional and helpful. We appreciated the flexibility of the system when installing it on a pre-engineered metal building. A crew of two of our regular framing carpenters were able to install the system with few difficulties.
Pre-engineered buildings lend themselves very well to the installation of metal siding and metal roofing, but a lot of expensive framing is necessary to adapt them to the installation of different siding or roofing systems. Installation of the Moderra was fairly simple—in the future, we would probably add an additional siding purlin to attach the T-shaped aluminum tracks, but otherwise quite straightforward. We were able to install the Moderra at a cost of roughly $7.50 per square foot (including material, freight, and labor), where conventional split-faced masonry unit construction would cost over $9.00/sf.
We had not used Moderra before, but will definitely consider it in future applications.
